Corporate Social Responsibility in Healthcare
Overview
We built a Corporate Social Responsibility activity service for staff at Mölnlycke. From very rough, high-level idea to finished globally released product in just seven weeks.
In an elevator?
Here’s the elevator pitch. We built a Corporate Social Responsibility activity app for staff at a leading healthcare company. From very rough, high-level idea to finished globally released product in just seven weeks.
Background
Every year, Mölnlycke and their employees carry out CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities to support their partner charities. Employees organise events to raise funds which the company then matches; all proceeds are donated to the extremely worthy causes of Operation Smile and Debra.
Challenge
Our project was to build a digital tool that helped staff arrange and administer their fund-raising events digitally. For example, if you’re working at Mölnlycke and want to carry out your very own jumble sale the app allows you to create and promote your event. As well as track the funds raised and other vital data.
Solution
To be able to move quickly into production we chose to build the app with serverless architecture. We utilised the powerful tools found in Google Cloud and Firebase to get instant access to fully managed services like authentication, database storage, asset storage and hosting. This approach made it possible to go from a very rough, high-level initial idea to finished globally released product in just seven weeks.
